Voters Registration
Background
This mini ethnography project was conducted by me and another student in the Master of Design program at the University of Arkansas.
The study was to investigate how we might encourage more University of Arkansas students to register to vote. The research aimed to inform the design of a system or artifact that will impact this group.
Method
We used qualitative and quantitative research methods. We sent our survey and interviewed participants to understand their standpoints. We also employed descriptive coding to analyze the data.
Key Finding
One of the major findings is participants expressed that they had difficulty finding where to register to vote;
Proposed Intervention
As an intervention, we recommended that a database of voter information on how to register, where to register, dates for early voting, and absentee ballot deadlines that are specific by county and region should be created and shared.
